I’ve been getting a ton of email to ask about the deal with my Web site: O’Grady’s PowerPage. First, let me dispel some rumors. Our ISP switched servers from 32-bit to 64-bit Linux and it wreaked havoc on our Web Objects back end. As a stopgap we’re pointing the PowerPage.org domain to a temporary location on the new server, but many people can’t reach it because it lives at port 6001, which is blocked by many firewalls.
It didn’t help that Tier 1 ISP Level 3 Communications wasn’t accepting traffic from Cogent Communications in a dispute over payments for a few days last week - virtually splitting the Internet into two. That situation has been resolved.)
